This tutorial explains how to setup the Freenet Message System (FMS) for Freenet on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10. This includes creating an FMS identity and announcing so you can post messages. This video is still valid for Ubuntu 14.04, however, this video will no longer work with Ubuntu 10.10 or 12.04 due to FMS 0.3.66+ requiring an updated libpoco version. If running Ubuntu/Mint open Synaptic package manager and search for Poco. Install libpoco-dev 1.3.6p1-ubuntu2 or newer. If running Debian you must enable Wheezy repositories for an updated package.
